The disks are very expensive. They have to be inside of a caddy on most models. Supposively a cdrw manufacturer and tripled the amount of space you can put on a cd there-by basically elimenating the need for a dvd-r device.

WARNING: most DVD players will NOT play green discs at all. They say all cd-r and dvd-r's will not work but I think color does have something to do with it. I am just starting with this technology but that is what I do know. Plus I know that creative is no longer manufacturing their DVD-ROM so finding it may be a problem.

actualy when they discontinued they only cost in the range of about 400-500 bucks. The media is what costs a lot.
