RAM Compatibility?

Hey, so I bought corsair vengence 1600MHz DDR3 RAM

Anyways when it arrived I noticed that it says it's compatible with Intel 1st and 2nd generations and AMD's phenom II CPU's. I have a FX 8320 and was wondering if it was compatible with my CPU and that the RAM was just made before AMD released the FX series, I don't want to open it until I know it works for return issues.
