Do i need a working sound card for this?

Does my sound chip need to work for the firewire port to work?

Hi G33k311,

Are you saying that your internal motherboard soundcard is broken? If that is what i understand, then i dont think that your new toy will work without it. But you can always get a soundcard to put into your motherboard, there is many available and alot cheaper then the one you have their in that website.
