Random Crashing out Error code 0x10

Having a problem at the moment with my computer randomly freezing.

The PC was originally powering up but not POSTing nor displaying anything (monitor said "no input detected"). After testing the PSU manually with a multimeter and trying onboard graphics instead of my GPU I determined it was the mobo that was cusing the problem.

So now I've got an ASRock 970 Extreme4 which boots fine etc. (I'm writing this on the PC I'm talking about). However, it randomly crashes out and the LED on the mobo (Dr. Debug) gives the code 0x10 which refers to "PEI Core is started."

The RAM was originally not being recognised as 1333 which I have now changed in the BIOS which seemed to prolong the time before it crashed, however it still crashes out at some point.

Any Ideas???

More about random crashing error code 0x10
  1. Also would like to add that I'm running Windows 8 Pro which worked fine before my original mobo conked out.
  2. Somehow running a blend test with Prime95 for 10 hours solved this.
I don't know how nor why, but I'm not going to question it either.
