2nd monitor delayed startup

My second monitor takes about ten to fifteen minutes to start up when I log on. This means I can't work with certain programs as some of them open on the right side of the desktop where I can't see them until both monitors are working. Any ideas on why this is happening. Been like this for a few months now. Time to fix it!

first thing would be to swap/reverse cables at GPU, see if monitor start up issue stays with specific DVI port, vice it being simple monitor sync issue
