I had one 5 year old sony vgn fe 670g laptop it was working fine so far, I thought to upgrade it's RAM to 2 GB from 1 GB. I opened and installed 1 GB memory in one slot just make sure the memory is fine. It didn't boot blank screen is coming...power and caps, numlock and A buttons are blinking. Nothing is happening.
I tried to go back to old RAMs and installed those, but to my surprise even those are not working now, and I can't boot the system it just blank screen, not sure how to fix it.
Any help would be appreciated, what I should do to fix it.
Welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums,
We'll try a BIOS reset here first, see where that gets you. Try this first with both modules of your new ram installed - if nothing, replace old ram and try again.
1) Unplug AC adapter from laptop,
2) Remove battery from laptop
3) Press and hold power button for 30 seconds
4) Reinstall battery
5) Plug in AC adapter
6) Try to power on laptop
Thanks. I am not sure i holded power button for 30 seconds. I don't see any bios coming up it's just keeps black so nothing shows up in monitor though i can hear the fan, other start up sounds.
I will try the steps. I did it but probably was pressing it too quickly.
