Hey there. Thank you for your responses and comments in advance.
I will be building a new computer at the first of the year. I was going to build this month but I think I will wait for Ivy and the new Radeon 7000 series graphic cards. I have an old Dell XPS I can put a new HHD in and it will be fine for a few months.
My new build will be for gaming; the new games, FPS. I will be spending about $2,000 for the PC itself, not the peripherals.
This will be my first build and I will have someone assist me (most likely he'll do it all http://img.tomshardware.com/forum/uk/icones/confused.gif). I am trying to get basic information down before I come back to the forum with help on the build components.
My questions are:
1. What kind of tests do I perform to make sure the PC is running smoothly?
2. How do I know I have a good score?
3. How do I find these tests? I have found a few while reading the forums (Prime 95, 3DMark 11) but I am sure there are more, like for memory.
Any other advice would be very much appreciated and accepted. http://img.tomshardware.com/forum/uk/icones/smilies/bounce.gif
Thank you very much for your time everyone.
