Network card problem

few days before there was a lightning in my area, later i found my internet is not working. i added new lan card to my gigabyte mother board. replaced rj cables. installed new drivers still no light is shown at rj connector.

pls help

and you tested the modem with another laptop or computer? or did the simple reset of turning the modem off for 5 min then turn it back on?

I had tried to connect laptop. No light was shown at port. Right now I'm using USB port to connect same modem and it's working. I recently bought netgear 150 router but it doesn't Hv USB port I need rj 45 to connect this router..
