Processor & Motherboard Support

Greetings everyone!

I'm beginning a build and I'm currently in possession of an AMD Phenom II X4 955, I have a motherboard in mind, an ASRock 970 Extreme4 and I just wanted to get a few expert opinions regarding this motherboard does it going to be compatible or not does it suitable for my gaming purpose....??

Decent board and it will allow you to upgrade to steamroller. Now, be warned, everyone is gonna scream "get Intel". You may have better upgrade options in the future with Intel. But if you're going to overclock the 965 is perfectly capable of maxing BF3 and wont really bottle neck with anything but a 7970/670. And it's a lot cheaper than an i5.

If you want to support AMD and it's in your budget it's a good CPU. And steamroller should be good. Intel just happens to be faster and cost more
