What makes the graphic card is good

I wonder what makes the g. card be good, what do i need to know before buying ?

You need to know your system limitations, like power supply, and cpu for starters. Cooling capability of your pc case as well as how much room it has. PCI-X or AGP. Do you have an LCD monitor and does it have DVI, HDMI or just VGA. What kind of games do you plan on running?
Lots of things to consider, need more information here. Oh ya, your buget.
