Hello, i have a Asus M3A78 mobo and with AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.2Ghz.

I have to update the bios. But I get a problem when I try to update the bios with the EZ Flash 2.
"ROM ID in the file is icompatible with the excisting bios".
I am sure I am using the correct rom file.

Is there someone who can help me?

you may need to convert your bios file, you need to check that online, google it. For some older motherboards, they give you a .CAP bios file but you need a .rom, or something like that, just look up your motherboard and BIOS converter or something along those lines online.

Did you buy the board separately or as a system?

I know i need a .rom file. I tried all the bios files for m3a78-em.
But none of them worked.

I bought the board and the processor separately.

Can you read the exact model on the board? What's the board's BIOS version now?
