Hi All,

I want to upgrade from my current Nvidia G210 to a more suitable graphics card as i like

My price range is around 3000-5000 Rs (65-100$)
I can find a graphics card but problem is i don't no that if it will work with my CPU's PSU

My Specs are

SYSTEM :- HP COMPAQ 8100 CMP
Processor :- Intel i3 550 @3.2Ghz
RAM:- 4GB 1330Mhz DDR3 SDRAM
GPU:- Nvidia G210 1GB DDR3 OC@ 680Mhz
PSU :- 320 Watts
MB :- hewlett packard 304Bh

My MB has two PCI Express x16 slots one with full height (75 Watt) and secondary with 35 W

My Desktop screen max out at 1360*768 but i usually play games at 1280*768 i don't want to play games at SUPER HIGH resolutions, this reso is more than enought for me.

So i found only 2 good cards Geforce 440 and Radeon 5770 which i think are compatible with my PSU .. Please a little help here Guys as i've been trying to find the best card for my PC for quite some time and can't seem to find a proper answer..

AND i can't change my PSU

Compaq is basicly HP.So they use the same PSU's as Compaq so their not very good. But I would agree a 5670/6670 should work with that PSU as well as provide a HUGE performance boost from a GT210.You should be able to play at your native resoultion with the 5670.

Thanks i was just looking at 6670 and it is a bit better than 5670 but i was also looking at 5770 and found this http://www.techspot.com/review/209-ati-radeon-hd-5770/page11.html

this one tells me that max power wattage doesn't exceed 284 W so i "Should" be able to use this "In Theory"

and this is my PSU ratings

As i know next to nothing about good PSU's plz tell if it is a good PSU or not.

Well the reason why we reccomeneded the 5670/6670 is because of it's low power consumption. With your current PSU you can still run the 5670/6670 without having to upgrade your PSU.

If you wanted to get the 5770/6770 then you would have to upgrade your PSU.Technically speaking your PSU should be able to run a 5770/6770 but that's only if it were a quality one.Because it's from HP it can't be held accountable for being able to output it's label because a lot of companies false advertise their PSU's.For instance your PSU says it's capable of delievering 320watts but really it's only capable of delievering 250watts or even 230watts.Lots of companies do that, that's why it's always best to buy from trusted quality PSU makers like XFX,Seasonic,Antec,Corsair,Cooler Master and a few others.

If you wanted to get the 5770/6770 I would suggest upgrading to a new/more capable PSU.Since your on a budget though I doubt it would be possible. The cheapest but still good quality unit would run you about $40 or about 1800Rs.Of course that's $40 in US but the prices are jacked up a bit in other countries.

Well now i have two options go for 6670..which can be used with my current psu...or wait for 3-4 months...save enough money for both 5770 and a PSU...

Will battlefield 3 be able to run on 6670 on high settings at 1280*768 or 1366*768 ?? i want atleast 35-40 fps..
