Hello,

I have two internet connections available to my PC, one being wifi via usb adapter and the other a wired ethernet connection. Can I use the wifi only for a local network and make sure only the ethernet is used for internet? I don't want to start downloading using the wifi.

Note -- each connection is via a different ISP. The wireless is cable modem from one ISP setup with a wireless router, and the wired internet is from a different ISP so they are totally separate.

I'm only using the wired connection at the time of posting this, although I have used the wifi one previously. Also, I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium.

Not exactly -- replace 'cable company' with 'fiber optic company', and it is wired directly to a wall outlet which needs no 'cable modem' as it were, just a direct ethernet line from wall to PC.

You should be able to.

1) each card needs to have a separate network scheme.

wired 192.168.0.1
wireless 192.168.1.1

2) I would assign the wireless card a static IP but NO gateway. No gateway, no Internet but still network.

see if that works in Win7
