What do you think of this for a casual gamer? Tags: Prebuilt Systems Product Last response: October 18, 2011 8:56 PM in Systems Share unicornpants October 18, 2011 7:14:38 PM I am in between building my own and prebuilt, is this one worth the money? I'm a casual gamer, usually play games like, Team Fortress or Left 4 Dead, and browse the internet, download music. I do use photoshop and other design related software if that makes any difference. http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=222260204 Features HDMI Yes DVI Yes DisplayPort Yes Controller Type Serial ATA/300 Graphics Controller Manufacturer AMD Graphics Controller Model Radeon HD 6570 Graphics Memory Capacity 1 GB Graphics Memory Accessibility Dedicated Product Type Desktop Computer Manufacturer Part Number QN559AA#ABA Manufacturer Website Address www.hp.com Manufacturer Hewlett-Packard Product Model HPE h8-1020 QN559AA Product Name Pavilion HPE h8-1020 QN559AA Desktop Computer Product Line Pavilion Product Series HPE h8-1000 Brand Name HP Maximum Memory 8 GB Standard Memory 8 GB Memory Technology DDR3 SDRAM Memory Standard DDR3-1333/PC3-10600 Memory Card Reader Yes Package Contents Pavilion HPE h8-1020 QN559AA Desktop Computer Keyboard Mouse DVI-to-VGA Adapter Wi-Fi Yes Wi-Fi Standard IEEE 802.11b/g/n Ethernet Technology Gigabit Ethernet Weight (Approximate) 24.21 lb Height 16.3" Width 6.9" Depth 16.2" Optical Drive Type DVD-Writer Optical Media Supported DVD-RAM/±R/±RW Dual-Layer Media Supported Yes Solid State Drive Capacity Not Applicable Total Hard Drive Capacity 1 TB Hybrid Hard Drive Capacity Not Applicable Bus Speed Not Applicable Processor Speed 2.80 GHz Processor Type Core i7 Processor Model i7-2600S Processor Core Quad-core 64-bit Processing Yes Processor Manufacturer Intel Chipset Manufacturer Intel Chipset Model H61 Express QuickPath Interconnect Not Applicable Number of Processors Supported 1 Number of Processors Installed 1 Hyper-Threading Yes HyperTransport Speed Not Applicable Operating System Windows 7 Home Premium with SP1 Operating System Architecture 64-bit Standard Warranty 1 Year Product Attributes Graphics Controller Manufacturer: AMD Graphics Memory Technology: DDR3 Hard Drive (RPM): 7200 Memory (GB): 8 Memory Range: 4 GB - 8 GB Memory Technology: DDR3 Operating System: Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium with SP1 Processor Manufacturer: Intel Processor Model: i7-2600S More about : casual gamer jmsellars1 October 18, 2011 7:43:22 PM Shouldn't be too bad for those games but it's not really made for gaming and is overpriced. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... ^ Also not the greatest price ever but far better for games. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... That would be far better again. If you could build one yourself or get a friend to do it you could get something even better than that, not to mention it would almost definitely have higher quality parts. unicornpants October 18, 2011 7:47:04 PM Thanks for your advice! Yeah, I am still thinking of just building my own, seems like it would be the best route to get the most out of my PC! Can't find your answer ? Ask ! Get the answer jmsellars1 October 18, 2011 8:56:39 PM Well heres a build I have suggested a lot quite recently but it's a great budget gaming build: Intel Core i3-2100 - $124.99 2x2GB G.Skill Ripjaws X 1333Mhz - $29.99 ASRock H61M/U3S3 - $69.99 Sapphire HD 6870 1GB - $179.99 Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB - $59.99 Crucial M4 64GB - $109.99 Coolermaster Elite 430 - $39.99 Samsung DVD Burner - $17.99 Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit OEM - $99.99 Corsair CX-500 - $49.99 Total - $792.90 before shipping and $40 rebates That's about the same cost as that HP but would be massively better in games, have higher quality components, better cooling, super fast boot/load times of an SSD, faster HDD, USB 3.0 and SATA 3.
