Hi,

I've just purchased AMD Bulldozer FX-4100 Socket AM3+ 4 Core Processor - 3.60GHz, 3.80GHz Turbo and I'm wondering whether or not it will fit my new motherboard. (I'm building a new machine).

Motherboard: AsRock 970 Extreme3 Motherboard
Ram: G Skill Ripjaws F3-10666CL9D-8GBRL 8GB DDR3 (1333MHz,Cas 9)

Can you please also tell me whether or not the above RAM will fit?

Any help is appreciated, I'm just a little confused. I've checked AsRock's website for compatibility and I can see a 4100 listed at 95w but the model number is different to the one I've currently ordered, will this matter as both the CPU and mobo are AM3+ sockets..?

Link for AsRock: http://www.asrock.com/mb/cpu.asp?Model=970%20Extreme3

Also: Is water cooling any good? I'll be gaming mostly (playing WoW).

Many Thanks!

When i run my fingers over the AM3+ socket on the mobo is it supposed to feel rough like as if the pins are sticking out?

My old Mobo AM2 isn't like that.

you really need to do your research.

your mobo will tell you what socket it has, which will tell you what CPU will fit or vise versa.

doesnt make a difference what the pins feel like. your NOT supposed to touch them at all due to the oil on your fingers and hand.
