* I'm not sure if Microcenter will ship to UK, but this is just a rough ideal of what you can expect for that amount of money... With $30 or so until you hit that $400 limit, you can put that extra money towards a better video card.

*** BUT!!! Like the others have said, the Llano can be had for around the same price (maybe a little more pricier), and may give better performance.

Here's a quick Llano build I just put together...

That's without the power supply as you might already have one that you can use (as stated), no case as some people are picky with how their computer looks, andddd no cd/dvd drive but those can be had for like 20 bucks.

Indeed, the point about Llano is you don't need a discrete GPU. You get a 4 core processor and a decent GPU in one package for a very reasonable price. Superb choice for a low end computer like this. And you can add a 6670 later for hybrid crossfire.

You should check out www.newegg.com and see if their site ships to the UK. If not, I'm sure there's other local sites (stores even) that may better if bought there.

The Llano build above is with the highest clock cpu/best gpu for the FM1 socket. Solid motherboard with SATA 6.0 & USB 3.0; fast 1866 ram to drive your cpu/gpu chip! If I were to build around Llano, that's how it would look.

that comes with a build in HD6550D graphics card, which is VERY solid for playing games at medium settings at 1680x1050 (30-45 FPS).

you can add a HD 6670 in hybrid crossfire, which will improve your fps in DX 11 games by 10-15fps, less so in DX 9 and 10.

anything more powerful than the 6670, and it shuts down the built-in GPU.

Whoa guys, Llano?

He can do a lot better than Llano for £400.

that's a solid build. intel build would swap in an H61 mobo and an i3-2100

I think the Llano builds were being suggested because people thought initially it was 300 dollars, not 300 pounds

Thanks very much Screwy and yummers, i'll look into the quad core amd as stated above,

Does anyone have a Intel build that will be kinda upgradable in the future as id rather just add parts than have to replace as i get the money.

Thanks again.
Homebuilt system Master

The 2100 is faster than Llano. If you stick with IPC graphics, the Llano more than catches up with its onboard GPU, but with a good GPU, the 2100 just keeps on going past it.

(disarded build....I had an intel quad, but it went to 431 pounds)

Yes, the reason I chose the Phenom Quad over the i3 HT is that games are threaded for multiple cores, so though the i3 may be faster, it is a Dual Core with HT, and in the long run the Phenom will be faster and you'll be able to upgrade it later on.

The HD 6770 is exactly the same, cards like that usually sell fast of Ebay, so when you need a new card. just sell the HD 6770 and grab your upgrade.

No problem btw.
