Dear Friends,
i have SAPPHIRE 100314-SR Radeon HD 6870 and i'm wondering is better to add another card to it or it's time to move for a new card? i'v seen the trailer of battlefield 3 and i don't think i will be able to play it with 1920*1080 with every thing set high ,
so my question is what card that i can add to my PC by using the crossfire ? and if it's the time to move for a new one what card you recommend ?

Regards

If you are looking to crossfire you will need to add another HD 6870 to the mix. Make sure your PSU has enough PCI-e cables available to support this because I believe it will require 4. My guess is you would be able to run BF3 on high (probably not ultra) with your current setup.

Yeah, the cheapest, and most effecient way to get a huge performance jump will be to xfire another 6870.

Even if you need a new psu for the xfire (which shouldn't cost you more than $100) you will still net more performance for the money you spend.

Lets say you have to buy a new PSU for another 6870. Well that will put your total cost at about $300. At that price (a cheap gtx 570 or a highly priced 2gb 6950) two 6870's in xfire will completely blow out anything you can buy for a single card.

Tell us what is the manufacturer of your PSU, then we will be able to tell you if its enough.

You can go for any brand, just make sure their clocks are the same, else the higher card will downclock to the other one.

Don't mean to bring up an old thread here, but I have the exact same card you have and was able to play the BF3 Beta on Ultra settings/Max without even a hiccup.

Not too sure how bad the final product will be on graphics, I'm sure they'll be more stable than the Beta actually.

So if you're just looking for in regards to BF3, you should be good to go with a single HD 6870.

I am interested in finding this particular video card, butl it is hard to find a new one, for I will not buy it any other way. It seems it has been discontinued. I would appreciate any info where to buy one. Thanks.
