Forum Systems : New Build New build for Friend need advice

Hello fellow Toms Hardware forum members,

I was recently asked by my friend to build a new system that would be completely dedicated to home surveillance. My buddy's house was recently broken into and now he has requested some type of surveillance system. I have built several computers for him in the past however I am very green when it comes to a system that is only used for home surveillance.

Cost isn't a huge issue although everyone likes a good deal, without needlessly spending money. obviously the system will need plenty of storage. As far as the PC components I'm pretty educated on PC hardware and know what I need. Where I need the most assistance is with the hardware and software specific to running the CCTV, and any information on setting something like this up.

As always I appreciate any and all assistance with this upcoming build.

Thanks,

ECI (Rage33)

I think you aren't looking for a PC. Check newegg( they sell surveillance kits i think)or stores that specialize in surveillance parts.
