get a 550W psu and you should be good. Thats the only thing i would be concerned about is the ability to power your system.

i5 is your best bang for buck processor out there. Top bench marks and right now i think newegg.com has it with a $15 off promo code, so only $205. Very good cpu. If you had the money, i would look at getting a GTX580. for only another $130, its a huge upgrade. What resolution is your monitor though? that is a big thing in determining upgrading to the GTX580.

Only other thing i might add now that i look at it is see if you can find an MSI Twin Frozer II GPU. They are rated #1 right now for cooling and performance.

That mobo is based on an older chipset which may hinder performance. The original psu that you picked out is strong enough for a 6850, I would't go any higher than that. You should be able to play the game with lowered detail at 1080p, but the 6870 might be an attractive option.

what mobo would u recommend in the budget to early mid range mobo

A good cheap one would be the asrock 770 chipset.

this only supports ddr2 is there one that supports ddr3 as ive already purchased the ram
