What's your spare PSU? And also is this for gaming? what's your monitor's resolution?
October 19, 2011 2:08:13 PM

Nope. You won't be able to crossfire it.

I mean the model of your PSU ;)  You can get a cheaper setup without losing perfomance (atleast not something noticeable)...what game do you plan to play?

we play competitively on cod. so mostly on mw3 and future versions! probably bf3 as well!

the model of the PSU is OCZ gameextreme, it is about one year old!

oh and another thing, would it be possible with that resolution to just use my 4870 grpahics card instead of buying a new 6950? would it still work with the new games?

SUM 434$ for about the same perfomance. And you keep the rest for newer CPUs & GPUs

Omg, everything from the CPU and the GPU downgraded in your build. It's also not the same performace.

I said it's ABOUT the same perfomance first of all...and that's true

if I was to just delay buying a graphics card for the time being.... and used my 4870 instead, would that be good enough for my resolution?

No. Seriously it's not. If it were then why would people buy an i5-2500k instead of an Phenom. The 6950 is a huge jump from the 6870/

He's not even playing at FULL HD resolution to get a 6950...other people buy i5 2500k because they have other needs....
