Hi
I have got a new 46 " Sony Bravia LCD FULL HD ( 50 Hz ) and I want to connect it to my pc through HDMI.
I want to know that my current Desktop's res. is 1280 x 1024 ( Ati 5850 1 GB ) will the res. going to change to much higher if i connect my tv nd pc ? Will I be able to use both Tv and PC aat the same time?
Will the Low Frequency ( 50 Hz) of the TV going to have a bad impact on gaming performance?

It should be independent, so you should be able to run both at different resolutions. I'm assuming "Full HD" means 1920x1080 so it's going to be a lot higher. You should be able to use both.

50Hz? I'm guessing your PAL/Europe? The biggest down side is you'll be limited to 50FPS. Could be better but it's not the end of the world.

Well its not independent :( the graphic card only gives out to HDMI when I plug the HDMI cable in it and I see blank PC monitor....mmm ( I have connected the PC and TV through the graphic card only . PC -- VGA OUTPUT and TV --- HDMI from the same 5850 )
Games are running liquid smooth though played nfs shift 2 and dead space 2 on 1920 x 1080 Maxxed out.
As soon as I plug out the HDMI wire it swithces to monitor and I could again see on the PC SCREEN.
Any easy way to switch?g
