Powercolor 6970 vs EVGA GeForce GTX 570

Hello! I built my first rig in March. I built it for running Skyrim and BF3. Now, I chose the Powercolor Radeon HD 6970 for my graphicscard. I read that it would preform well with my overall rig. Then I found out about the GTX 570, and how it was slighty better than 6970. Should I save money and go for the GTX 570, or is my 6970 good enough to play on max for the upcomming games? Is it a OC issue?

My Rig:
ASUS Sabertooth P67 1555
i7 Quad-core 2600k @ 3.4Ghz
6GB RAM @ 1800Mhz (I know thats wrong for my motherboard)
Powercolor Radeon HD 6970

THANKS :D

The two cards are very comparable. I'm going to take an educated guess and say that Skyrim will run better on the GTX 570. Generally Bethesda games run better on Nvidia (Oblivion, Fallout 3).

If you already have a 6970, then definitely no reason to spend more for a minimal upgrade.

Agreed. the 6970 and the 570 are pretty close to each other in performance. It would be a complete waste of money to get one when you have the other.

Save that money up and wait for the new generation of cards to come out.. your 6970 will keep you maxing everything out till then and even past then for a while.

You might have set is as a Discussion thread, instead of a Question thread. I'm not sure.
