Hi!

I have a EVGA GTX 280 SSC with an Enermax Infinit 720W. I wonder if my PC freezing problem could be related to the power.

Here is the requirement of the card:
Minimum of a 550 Watt power supply.
(Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 40 Amp Amps.)

And here are the PSU specs:
3 rails:
+12V1 (Drives/GPU) 0.5-28A
+12V2 (Drives/4+4P CPU/GPU) 0.5-28A
+12V3 (MB/ (6+2)P GPU) 0.3-30A
Total 56A

Could the amp difference (40-28=12) may cause freezing ?

thanks

A 720w is more than enough for this card. Actual use is 180-240w max with overclocking unless you psu is defective your card is the issue. These cards tend to have such issues when they are neglected by their owners by failing to keep them as cool as possible from the start. At high temps they like to slowly degrade over time even though the vram and gpu core are just fine. Better built than the 275 and 285 but they are needy cards.
