Need Help Combining Ram

Hello everyone! I have two of these;

I want want to add two of these: *Corsair 2GB XMS3 1600MHz 9-9-9-24 1.6V Ver6.0* For a total of 12 gigs of RAM.

I tried adding the two XMS3 Sticks in my Gigabyte z77 UD5H which had the two Ballistix Tracer sticks I had, with a 3570k for a processor as well, and I just got peeps with nothing on the screen. So my question is, can these be combined somehow for a total of 12 gigs? And if so how would I achieve this? Thanks everyone.

I would not do it since they have different timings and voltages. 1.5 volt ram is the correct one for your system so stick with the tracers.
