I really like these two cpus but can't decide if AMD or Intel is better. I will be using my computer for gaming and already have a XFX Radeon HD 6770.

This is pretty much the same situation as your other thread comparing the FX4100 to the i3 2120. If you are going to heavily overclock then the AMD is probably the better choice. At stock speeds the i3 is better and it can not overclock. With the 960T you might be able to unlock cores as well but that will not help if gaming is your primary use.

I would still get the i3, it has a much higher upgrade path. So you can go from sandybridge i3 to core i5/i7 sandybridge, or sandybridge i3 to ivybridge i3/i5/i7

I think if you're just going to slightly overclock, then don't overclock at all. So go for the i3. Get a Phenom II x4 if you have a good motherboard and cpu cooler. Then you can overclock like a champ.

Maybe look at a 965 blk edition? I just read this, and it says a lot of good about the cpu.

It depends on which card you are going to run and what resolution you play on.

i3 2120 has so many more upgrade options, amd socket is dead also you have to really heavily overclock x4 955 just to meet stock i3 2120, finally amd is only better in multi thread applications, if ur using just for gaming its i3 2120 hands down
