Hey guys. Getting very close to having enough money to pull the trigger a new build, but I am not sure which size PSU I need. I've got a couple of options as to what my build will look like. As it stands now, it is:
Case: Corsair Carbide 400R
Motherboard: ASRock Z68 Extreme 7 Gen3
CPU: Core i5 2500k
GPU: HD7970 reference
HDD (OS): OCZ Agility 3 60GB
HDD (Storage): Seagate Barracuda 1TB
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14
RAM: Corsair Vengeance low profile 16GB (4x4GB)
DVD: LG LG GH24NS70
Monitor: Asus VE247H 23.6in Widescreen
OS: Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit
Mouse: Logitech G400
Keyboard: Enermax Aurora Lite
What size PSU will I need for the above system?
What would I need if I added say, a second 7970, another hard drive and second monitor?
My second question goes as follows. I will have pretty much the same system except:
CPU: Core i5 3570k/Core i7 3770k when IB arrives.
GPU: Kepler's equivalent of the GTX580 (GTX 680? 690?)
What size PSU will I need here? It's obviously a bit of a guess, but the Tom's forumites have been around the block a few times so....
What would I need if I added say, a second GTX <insert number here>, another hard drive and a second monitor?
I'm quite happy to spend on a PSU. I don't want to be short of power, but I don't want the PSU barely getting out of first gear. The system will be used for both video editing (hence the RAM) and gaming. I will also look to do some overclocking. For example, I wouldn't mind getting the 2500k to the 4-4.2ghz mark.
