Can you update bios with this cpu?

My friend is about to buy an asrock h77m and a i5 3350p. The bios have to be 1.20 to run that cpu will the mobo come with the updated bios or can he update the bios using that cpu. I know some mobo will let you get into bios even if the bios aren't high enough to fully use the cpu.

Hi, If the mobo has not the right BIOS (it depends on the date when it was manufactured). most probably he will need a supported CPU for accessing BIOS and flashing it.
Some ASUS boards have the Flashback feature that allow you to flash the BIOS without starting the board.
If the BIOS chip is on socket you can also buy one programmed with the latest version and replace the original one.
