Hi all, I was wondering if you could help me. Most likely I will be playing my pc games on a 46 inch 1080p lcd tv, and was wondering if I wanted to play games with max settings should I get an AMD 6870 or 6950 (I will only be using 1 card, no SLI or crossfire)? Any other suggestions? Also, there wouldn't be any point in playing at higher than 1920x 1080 with that tv? Thanks

Speaking strictly for myself, I don't see that the extra $50-$75 spent on an HD6950 is worth it. I have no problems turning down the settings to improve game play. With an HD 6870 installed, you shouldn't have to turn down too many settings.

But again, that's just me.

One card will not play today's game at max settings. You will need to consider Tom's reviews on Crossfire/SLI and also consider the article written on micro stutter.

All I can humbly say is in my very limited knowledge of just playing on a Samsung 23 inch over HDMI on crossfire you are going to be spending much more money to get it done than just one card.
