i just want to know if i can fit any athlon x4 cpu in there to make an upgrade to a quad core for the home pc, right now it has an athlon ii x2 215

Just make sure to get the boxed one (the one with box in the name). It comes with the heatsink. The others don't.

compare the specs of the phenom ii x4 840 with one of those in the list ans you'll see the architecture is the same, i even compared the chips pin thing is and they are the same
