  1. huh? Get another 6870 for crossfire. Also overclock your 8120.
  2. He was talking about a computer for his friend... He was just mentioning what his setup was.

  4. With a $300 budget, your possibly better buying a pre-built custom PC from ebay or similar website.

Custom Built may be an option but fitting in a good GPU will be the hardest part. AMD CPU is certainly going to be the way to go.

    Minimum requirements for Battlefield 3
OS: Windows Vista or Windows 7
Processor: Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz or Althon X2 2.7 GHz
    RAM: 2GB
Graphic card: DirectX 10 or 11 compatible Nvidia or AMD ATI card, ATI Radeon 3870 or higher, Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT or higher.
    Graphics card memory: 512 MB
Sound card: DirectX compatibl sound card
Hard drive: 15 GB for disc version or 10 GB for digital version

Unless you have a way to get Windows free, then that's going to set you back around $100 just for the OS before you even buy any hardware.
  5. If i was you i would get a quad q6600 , 6gb of corsair ram and as for a gpu i would go for the hd 5770 from ati

That should play Battlefield on medium at pretty good framerate

as AdrianPerry said yes, i think i have a windows disk... bbut anyway so far the budget matters im not buying he is but he does not know anything about building a computer so i am he will try to get about $300 buck for a pc i think thats a great setup when i built my pc i bought my case and power supply together for about $70 and i saw one for about $100 about 400w he is mainly gonna play mincraft but he might get bf3 so he wants a pc that can handle it properly not 5 fps on low, agin that would be a great setup i got a drive for $15 before and i might not get that power supply and bundle the case with one or i will buy a very cheap $30-$40 case (yes they have those) can you run any settings but at least 30 fps? is it possible for a duel core a4 apu to work it's much in his price range but maybe a triple core a6 apu i don't really know i need good prices, good parts.
  8. I'm not really all that hot on the lower budget builds so im afraid I cant be of much more help :) I know there's plenty of people on this forum that will be able to give you some good build ideas though :)

I'd recommend posting in the NewBuild/Homebuilt section of the forums. Your likely to get more responses :)

    is it good for bf3?
  13. It should be good enough.

its the gpu thats really gonna be limiting.
  14. what are you reccomending? he said maybe $350 MAX
  15. Ill recommend he try to buy something second hand as with his budget, its unlikely he will be able to get something that well.

there is very little you can cut from addrianperry's build to safe money and thats the best you can do.

i asked him he said it will be great as long as it runs bf3 and minecraft so i can find maybe a case and power supply together if not then ill ask him if this would be good so that's really all a drive is $15 so ill be fine
