Simple question, CORSAIR CML16GX3M2A1600C10R and Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3, do they work? Actually two questions, is that a good piece of RAM?

Gigabyte website claims:

" 4 x 1.5V DDR3 DIMM sockets supporting up to 32 GB of system memory (Note 1)
Dual channel memory architecture
Support for DDR3 2000(O.C.)/1866/1600/1333/1066 MHz memory modules (Note 2)"

Your ram is the low profile edition of the Corsair Vengeance series, it is 2x8 gb modules and should be compatible if I got the product number right.

In addition, I think it's a good brand for ram. Anyways is this a gaming build only? Or is this for some other purpose?

Edit: To add more, the ram you selected is 1600mhz which falls under the supported ram.
