i will buy i newegg, no parts preferences, and in probably 1 or 2 weeks

the budget is 400$

if its posible to get him a $400 rig, help me out, have no idea on lower end parts

no need for speakers, mouse, keyboard, and os

any help will be appreciated

suggested as mods to IH8U's build

Havent had a chance to look at your parts list mega , sorry

EDIT : Definitely the mb I have suggested . Its AM3+ so it can be used with future processors if you ever want to upgrade . AM3+ motherboards have black sockets so theyre easy to spot .

Any 6770. I'd buy this purely on price ....and maybe the free game .

I like the look of that HEC case , but you can save $10 with [ $5 shipping grrrrr]
Rosewill R102-P-BK 120mm Fan MicroATX Mid Tower $30

+1 to that.

With the AM3+ board it would be easy to upgrade aswell.

The Quad Core Athlons are not much more expensive too.

total is $402, but without the dvd burner, im going to borrow mine to my bro so that he can install the OS

All those parts have lots of positive reviews so it gives me peace of mind haha

tell me what you think

You will need a larger PSU just to be on the safe side. Other than that, good build.

I think you should use the mb and psu I have suggested above . They are cheaper and the mb quality is better .
They may let you include the 6790 that others have suggested . It is a stronger card so if you canget it for the same price jump at it

and ill better use the corsair psu u recommended

is it possible to order from outside the united states from that page? just curious

Its supposed to be able to game . A radeon 6450 has enough grunt to play back videos really effectively ....so basically it cant even begin to compare to the 6770 suggested above , and would die of embarrassment compared to the 6790 that fits the budget

Yeah Mega the
GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-S2P AM3+ AMD 760G
is a better choice of mb than the Asus I suggested earlier .

But theres another possibility now we know hes getting your quad in a few weeks .

Just get one of these
AMD Sempron 130 Sargas 2.6GHz $30
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103944

The extra money you save can let you upgrade the motherboard to
GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3 AM3+ $95
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128519
or
ASUS M5A97 AM3+ AMD 970 $100
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131767

Either of those has the latest chip set , and technologies . Both will be fully upgradeable . I prefer the Asus , but really either is good .

Yeah the sempron processor will suck . but if its just a few weeks its not worth spending more on a part you might use for such a short period of time
