More about intel xeon e5660
  1. It runs all the cores at 2.8GHz, but one core can go up to 3.2 GHz in Turbo mode. It is good in that it allows one core to run faster.

It's a two year old processor, what kind of work do you need to do?
  2. I think you are talking about the Intel® Xeon® X5660 which runs at 2.8GHz and based on heat and the number of cores in use can clock up the speed of the processor to run up to 3.2GHz. This isnt a older processor that still at the heart of our dual processor line up.

I am purchasing 3 Dell R710 servers to replace our current DMZ servers. All using VMWare ESX and Windows 2008.
  4. Find any reviews? Just about to deploy one. Used for getting bombarded with multicast on one nic and then sending normalized traffic out tcp another.
