whats the most staple overclock for the phenom ii x4 955 with CM hyper-TX3

i tried to auto overclock it with AMD over drive old version and it set it at 3.7_x18_40c _ 205 and i did stress it a lot but it just not stable
am not going to do any over voltage . . i will be mainly overclock it from the BIOs . . my motherboard is the ASrock 770DE3L

- at the overdrive old version i get 8000* when i benchmark overclocked . . but with the new version i get 6000* when its overclocked !
another thing . . can you name some of "CPU auto overclock software "

over voltage is the key to any good overclock, i can get 300MHz extra on my stock voltage... course thats about where the extra preformance peaks but anyways

auto overclock software varies alot depending on your mobo manufacturer, for example Asus have Cpu level up, and turbo V evo... err and the TPU chip on the board... gigabyte boards have an overclock button on em...

I got 3.8 stable with no over volt on a asus something 880g motherboard and a hyper 212+, cpu is 58C under prime95.

going to 4ghz didn't boot and I didn't want to over volt. Im only running at 3.6 cause I saw no need of it being higher clocked, everything runs great at 3.6.

the problem is i did overclock it but if i restart my PC . . at the bio it shows that its running at 3.2 . . but at AMD Over Drive it shows its 3.6 so how i solve that problem

another this : if you can easily overclock your CPU from 3.2 to 3.6 with no over voltage or any thing . . why it doesn't come pre-overclocked from the factory ? i mean if AMD has released the phenom ii x4 955 @ 3.6 for $120 it will make more money . . or what you think . . thanx

i dont beleve Aod saves the overclock to your bios permanently, go into your bios and change the settings there if ya want em to stay at 3.6

I dont use overdrive for overclocking ever.
Go into bios and increase your muliplier. You should be able to squeeze 300-400 mhz off of auto voltage and more with a small bump. The good.thing about a multiplier unlock is you dont have to increase your fsb speed and can achieve a higher stable clock with a multiplier increase and core voltage bump. There are plenty of reviews on overclocking the 955 online.that can.shed some light on what different builds are doing to achieve the higher clocks that can help guide you to a better overclock.
