I have begun to use skype, the VoIP telecommunications software. I
presently use it with a wired microphone and headset, but would like
to use a wireless bluetooth configuration.

As I have a bluetooth capable mobile phone (Sony Ericsson T610), I
have wondered whether it is possible to use the phone as a 'slave'
headset: all the hardware seems to be there.

If anyone had heard of this being done, or had suggestions as to how
to do so, I would be grateful to hear of them.

Thank you in advance,

Colin Rowat

I have been trying to get an answer to this one for some time, but
without success. There is one VoIP company in the UK that sells T610s
and says that they offer exactly this capability. They sell them along
with a bluetooth dongle but it isn't clear how they turn the phone into
a 'headset', nor what functions it has, e.g. can it answer the call and
hang up? Understandably they are unwilling to explain exactly how they
do it but the phone is still usable as a GSM phone so it must be a hack
of the bluetooth profile to make the phone think it's a headset. I have
been trying to solve this one for months but so far have drawn a
complete blank. I may have to resort to buying a new phone just to find
out how it works!!!!
