I have an Asus eee pc 1005ha netbook computer. CPU N270 Intel Atom 1.60 GHz processor, 160GB hard drive.
I found the performance unbearably slow, so bad that it was unuseable.
I purchased a 2GB ram chip, Kingston KVR8OOD2S6/2G.
2GB PC2-6400 CL6 200-PIN SODIMM.
These specific product specifications had been recommended on 3 websites as the best choice as a ram upgrade, according to the above specifications.
I installed it without difficullty. However "System" still shows 0.99GB ram; BIOS shows 1024MB, as expected.
I don't understand this discrepency. The computer works, but actually seems to be slower than before. I don' know what I did wrong. I know the Atom processor is obsolete at this time.
Any input on this netbook problem would be appreciated.
Grats.
