Power on problem in pc

Hello,
my PC Pentium4,3.06 processor,with Intel PG board.
when i switch on the PC it get start and stop within 2 sec.
why?

Sometimes it happens because of improper bios settings. try resetting it by removing the bios battery for some minutes and then replug it.
