I have an E8400 and my asus p5n-d just died and I RMA'd it.Did the cpu died too.
And also ,can the cpu be dameged when cleaned? I cleaned the pins surface contact and the thermal paste on it too.
Is it dameged or dead? How can A cpu be killed?

I hope your CPU is fine.
A static wrist guard is a good bit of kit
that should be used whenever your handling components.
ounce of prevention and all
:non: don't pick your nose, don't put things in your ears, don't screw wt the connectors on your cpu or chipset.

CPUs don't "BLOW"!
They rarely ever stop working for any reason. But in the rare occasion that they do, its because static electricity got to one of the transistors inside the die. Highly unlikely, but it does happen.
