Hello All,

I would appreciate it if you could check my current build plan to make sure everything is compatible and offer any suggestions for improvements. I haven't built a PC before but I have been lurking here and elsewhere so hopefully this build is at least decent but I would appreciate any suggestions.

Approximate Purchase Date: Next day or two

Budget Range: Approx $1200 but could go a bit higher if it will make a substantial improvement to performance.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming (Skyrim, maybe BF3 or Crysis 2, etc.)

Parts Not Required: Monitor, all other peripherals, OS

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg or Amazon or others if substantially better deal.

Country of Origin: USA

Parts Preferences: Intel and nVidia for current generation CPU and GPU

Overclocking: CPU yes. GPU probably.

SLI or Crossfire: Initially no but I would like the option down the road.

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Here is the current plan with prices after rebates but before tax (7.25%). Everything is from Newegg for the moment, I checked on amazon and it didn't seem like there were many deals to be had even though it does not include tax. To make things simpler, I would prefer to get everything at one from a single site unless there is a large cost difference (e.g., $50).

CPU+RAM Combo $255
Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80623I52500K

CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B

GPU+PSU Combo $455 - I know 850W is probably overkill for 1 GPU but I want the option to SLI later. The card is a bit more expensive than the reference versions but I want to potentially overclock so this seems like it might be a better option and it also has $40 off from the combo deal.
MSI N570GTX Twin Frozr III PE/OC GeForce GTX 570 (Fermi) 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16

CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX850 V2 850W ATX12V v2.31/ EPS12V v2.92 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC High Performance Power

Mobo $125 - Anything important missing from this "cheaper" version compared to more expensive models?
ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Case $45- I don't care about LEDs or windows, etc., but will everything fit into this case with good airflow?
Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

CPU Cooler $26
COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus RR-B10-212P-G1

SSD $110
Corsair Force Series 3 CSSD-F90GB3-BK 2.5" 90GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Mechanical HD $65 -Basically just picked the cheapest version on Newegg, it has decent reviews but if there is a better version let me know.
Seagate Barracuda ST31000524AS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

DVD Burner $20 -Again didn't put much thought into this and I hardly use the DVD drive but if there is something better let me know.
ASUS 24X DVD Burner - Bulk 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 12X DVD+R DL 24X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM Black SATA Model DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS - OEM

Extra SATA Cable $3 - If my math is right the mobo comes with 2 SATA III cables which I will use for the SSD and HD and then I need one more for the DVD drive.
StarTech 18" Right Angle SATA Cable(1 end) Model SATA18RA1

For a total of $1098 and $1196 after tax ($84) and shipping($14).

Thanks for your input.
