Mobo/cpu compatible?

I recently received a motherboard (EVGA P67 SLI 130-SB-E675-KR) as a gift, but am not sure I can use an Intel Ivy Bridge (i7 3770) processor in it. It has the right socket, but the retail site where the motherboard was purchased tags the motherboard as "Sandy Bridge CPU Compatible only", while the EVGA site has no such warnings.

Will it run the CPU? Will there be a loss in performance?

yes only supports sandy bridge cpu as they have not updated any bios to support ivy bridge so you must use sandy.

Can the BIOS be upgraded to work with the Ivy Bridge?
