I am planning to build a new system in the next few months and I'm looking for a case to use. I want something with good cooling that is also more interesting than the usual plain white case, but is still functional, any links or help would be appreciated, thanks!

Get an Austek Vapochill case, has a a/con unit, runs the cpu at -40deg, and keeps your beer cold too, Toms has reviewed it

hehe, yes i'd love to get a vapochill if you would like to loan me $650, while i'm willing to spend some money on the case, it has to be at least remotely affordable.

Lian-Li PC-60

"good cooling": twin 80mm intake fans with a filter over them to keep out dust, one 80mm exhaust fans, one exhaust fan on the PSU, good airflow design

"more interesting than the usual plain white case, but is still functional": All-aluminum, this mean it is several times lighter than just about all cases (since they use steel) and conducts heat several times better (to speard heat from you components). It looks good and interesting, conversation starter. It is designed very well, very easy to work with (almost everything comes apart, removable motherboards tray, rounded edges, thumbscrews used instead of regular screws, etc.)

Only bad part is the price: about $250, still less than half the price of the vapochill and more affordable, but more than most cases

directron.com has the lowest price I could find for the PC-60: <A HREF="http://www.directron.com/pc60.html" target="_new">http://www.directron.com/pc60.html</A> at $189 without the PSU. You can add the Enermax 330W Whisper series PSU (about the best you can buy, two quiet fans, gold plated ends, etc) for $64 more making the total of $245 or add a generic PSU to your order for much less.

I wonder how much it would cost or if it would be possible to chrome plate an Addtronics 7890 case?

--I'm still waiting for the heat sink case, where both sides are actually huge 12" x 24" x 1/2" continuoius heat sinks... Or, how about a perforated case, all around, every surface, either a black grid or black perf aluminum...

WOW! The full tower is, well, really <b>really</b> sweet!

I just ordered the standard plain jane Addtronics though, because while I was looking at it I started to imagine the sound of squeeking plexi, and because I started adding up how much that case would cost ($180 for the case plus all nice mounting hardware, custom cables, nice drive bay adaptors, etc. etc. etc.), but I've got it bookmarked for my next one. Also, I wonder if things like grounding and interference and static building up become problems with a plexi vs. a metal case.

Chrome plating is environmentally hazardous and requires specially controlled dipping tanks and room air filtering to do it correctly. You would have to take it to an industrial plating facility. I was going to have about 200 nuts (the kind that go with bolts) chrome dipped and it would have been about 60 cents a piece. You may find it fairly cheap, but I'm not sure if they would do a custom job like that or not. The best is if you know someone that works there and can "sneak" it in the dipping tank while they are doing a legitimate job.

towaway, you register on February 4th and have already made 10 post about how great www.colorcases.com is. Thats kind of odd don't you think. Infact, those ten post are the only post you have made. All of that only in one day. Either you are yet another spammer (these unique case sellers need to take a break from the spammin) or you really, really feel strongly about this certain company for some unapparent reason.
