Foxconn 2AAF motherboard query

Hi all,

I'm trying to upgrade my dad's old PC, which is a Compaq machine, using a Foxconn 2AAF motherboard.

The information from the board itself, shows:

HP 616663-001
H-AIRA-RS780L-uATX Revision 1.02
Socket AM3 Motherboard

But I can't find any mention of it on Foxconn's site, or any bios updates etc.

There's an HP site for the board, but there's only driver downloads

https://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02556928&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=4278514

Was wondering if anyone had any advice?

  1. Well from personal experience HP does not offer BIOS updates (from the one HP computer I have owned previously, it was an HP P6604f). I would just contact HP if they even do BIOS updates.

Also why do you need a BIOS Update? You upgrading the CPU? I believe there are already compatible upgrades available as said in the support page.

This is what is stated on the support page:

    " AMD Phenom II X4 9xx/9xxe/8xx Quad-Core (Deneb core)
AMD Phenom II X3 7xx/7xxe Triple-Core (Heka core)
AMD Phenom II X2 5xx (Callisto core)
    AMD Athlon X4 6xx/6xxe (Propus)
    AMD Athlon X3 4xx/4xxe (Rana)
    AMD Athlon X2 2xx/2xxe (Regor)
AMD Sempron Single Core Processor 1xx (Sargas core)"

Edit: Forgot to mention, it also support CPUs up until 95 watts TDP.
