the A8 3870k is just the 3850 but with a slight bump and an unlocked clock for easy OC. The difference isn't much if you don't OC but the 3870 will be able to clock to 3.6ghz easily out performing the 3850 by a significant margin when overclocked.

The 3850 also will overclock but not as far as the 3870 but neither game well at 1080; even if you use the hybrid crossfire with another gpu.

theres no reason to get the 3870k if you get the 6850 since a phenom IIx4 will be faster and cheaper.

i dont like the 6850... cause i have one. i didnt know microstuttering was an issue... till i played a game with a dif GPU with frames less than 60 and it was smooth... cant get that with the 6850. between 30-45 it still looks laggy. i say get a 560 or 560ti unless you upgrade to a 6950. are you going to upgrade monitors in the future? maybe get multiple monitors?

you sure you don't just have a bad card? cause microstudder doesn't happen to single gpus.

Couldn't agree more. 6850 won't crossfire with the 6650D, and for games, you want the l3 cache memory on the P II line
