I was playing battlefield 3 about 30 minutes ago and all of a sudden my PC made a very loud and shut down and will not turn back on. What i was wondering is what component could be have caused this? my initial idea was that it was the PSU that's overheated and died but i'm really not sure.

My specs are (that i can remember)

1GB SAPP HD6790 11194-00-20G
AMD PHENOM2 X6 1090T AM3 125w
MSI 870-G45 mobo
450W PSU
500GB HD
Some random O.D

Thank you for any suggestions or in sight :)

Thank you for the fast replys, it was the PSU that has died after doing what davcon suggested which should be a cheap replacement. All i am worred about now is if any other component is fried. Is there anyway to find if they are fried?

You don't want to go too cheap on the replacement. If it didn't take out any other components this time, it could well take them out next time. 1 good unit is cheaper than 6 bad ones.

Unless it was a good unit... in which case if its under warranty RMA that puppy.
