I'm shopping for a case for the sytem I'm building. I've already ordered a 650 Duron and an Abit KT7 mobo. Now I'm gonna need An ATX tower w/ a 300watt AMD approved power supply. I would like to keep the damage under $100 and was hoping you nice ppl could offer a few suggestions & links.

I noticed that in the latest article on toms (1-14-00) that the build your own system that they put together an ATX tower w/ 300 watt PS was used and they listed it at a cost of $55.00. I imagine that was probably without shipping but they didn't mention what brand, model, or even where they got it. $55 sounds like a very good price for that case and I would love to know where to find that if anybody recognizes that case and can tell me what it is then that might be helpful too.

Thanks in advance to anybody who takes the time to help this struggling consumer find the right case.

For that price I would recommend the Antec-SX-830. It has a great power supply, looks good, is easy and convenient to use (has a side latch, rounded edges, except no motherboard tray), and has good cooling capability (it has 4 fan slots, put 2 fans in front, one in the uppermost rear, and the power supply fan will balance it off for great airflow).

Other considerations are the Fong-Kai FK-306, and Lian-Li PC-60 (but that is out of your price range), and 3D Cool Tornado 1000 (except this is a little out of your price range and might be a little loud for your tastes). If I was you I'd go for the Antec. Here is a link to reviews:

For around $50, Tom probably used a cheap, generic, barely adequate performing case. You can find that at your local computer store.

After looking at Tom's review, I could tell that Tom used an Elan Vital (part of Asus) T-5 "Super" Mid-tower. This is a decent case although I would still recommend Antec. I don't know where he got it for $55 though, it's suggested retail price is $119+tax, but Mwave offers it for $60+shipping (http://direct.mwave.com/mwave/doc/t5.html). This is probably as low a price you will find on the net.
