I'm planning to buy the Canon SD300. It includes a recharger and a
rechargable lithium battery. This camera can't take regular batteries.
I travel to asia regularly and they use 220v. I'd be in trouble if my
batteries runs out of charge and I couldn't find a 110v to plug into.

Is the included recharger compatible to both 110 and 220? Does it have
a button to switch voltage? If the answer is no, then what are my
option? I have a transformer that I could bring, but it's very heavy
and I would rather than drag that on my travels. My other option is to
buy another battery charger for 220v. Does anyone know where I could
buy this online?

B&H Photo has a third party line of chargers. I think you need the one
that has a carlighter cord. I got one for my 20D

I can't guarantee this but these types of chargers these days are
almost always universal voltage. There's no switch. Just plug it in
and the charger figures things out by itself.

Not always. My camcorder charger is labelled AC IN ~100-240 V 50/60 Hz 23W
but e.g. my mobile charger is only for 220 V.You have to find the right
plug, anyway, because they are different in Asia and Europe, too.

My 20D came with a charger that was 110 and 220 although you need to
provide your own adapter plugs. It changes over automatically. I don't
know about yours.
