Hp dv5 won't boot

Hi guys

I have this HP dv5 which was working perfectly fine with Windows Vista.
I tried to install Windows 7. During installation, I got the message that Windows would restart (which is pretty normal). My laptop never restarted.

I am now stuck on "hp invent" screen and at the bottom left I see Press Esc key for Startup Menu.

Nothing happens when I press Esc and I remain on the same screen.

What I have done so far:

Removed and reinstalled RAM (3GB)
Tried one RAM stick at a time
Removed battery, kept the power switch pressed for 15 seconds and tried to boot with power (without battery)
Removed RTC battery and kept out for 15 seconds

No luck so far.

Need immediate help plz.

Thanks

Goto the HP website. Look for instructions for getting to win7. Most likely the laptop has a device that needs a driver, and the win7 distribution does nto have the driver.

not sure of your model number, find a page like this one http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=...
select win7 (64 or 32 bit!) and then get the right drivers.

Win7 install should give you a spot to load.
