Additional Comments:

My current PC:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHz
Mobo: ASUS P5Q Pro
Graphics Card: EVGA GeForce 480 GTX
Memory: 2xCORSAIR XMS2 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory Model CM2X1024-6400
PSU: PC Power And Cooling 750W
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit
Case: Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

I was thinking about upgrading my CPU/Mobo/RAM to complements my Graphics Card since I'm pretty sure my current build is quite terrible.

Upgrades:

CPU: Intel i5-2500K 3.3ghz Quad Core Unlocked
Mobo: ASRock P67 EXTREME4 GEN3 LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
RAM: Patriot Gamer 2 Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model PGD38G1600ELK

I'm open to any suggestions and appreciate the help.

  1. You've got the right idea. The graphics card, psu, and case are all still good but you'll want to upgrade the cpu/mobo/ram like you mentioned. You're on the right track with the upgrades you've chosen. The only thing I would suggest is buying 1.5V RAM instead of 1.65V RAM because 1.5V plays better with sandy bridge. The other stats on the RAM are what you want (1600mhz and CAS Latency 9).
  2. do you have any suggestions as to which RAM i should go with? like G.Skill or something?
  3. You don't have to be too picky. The brands I'd recommend are Corsair, G.Skill, Mushkin, and Kingston. Anything from those brands on this list will be what you want:

  4. Those happen to be Deactivated on the canadian website so do you have an alternative choice??
  5. Oh, I apologize, I sent you the wrong link the first time. This is the list you want (on newegg.ca)
