Compatible motherboard for Gigabyte GV-R7750C-1GI Video Card

Trying to find compatible Motherboard for Gigabyte GV-R7750-1GI Video Card.
This Video Card utilizes PCI Express 3.0 x 16. The best that I can find is a Gigabyte GA-970A-D3 Motherboard with PCI Express 2.0 x 16. I am a novice at this Computer DIY, are these two compatible? I can't find a Motherboard with PCI Express 3.0 x 16. Gigabyte Website will not cross reference Motherboard, and Video Card-P.I.T.A. HELP!!!

Yes the motherboard you have selected is compatible. I don't think there are any cards that can saturate the entire bandwith of a PCI-e 2.0 slot yet (unless I am behind in my video cards :lol: ). I myself have the HD 7770 which is a PCI-e 3.0 card but works perfectly fine with my motherboard's 2.0 slot. That being said PCI-E 3.0 cards should be backwards compatible with PCI-E 2.0 slots on motherboards.
