Dvd writer not working

Hello,
My LG DVD Writer not reconizing dvd,s and vcd,s but it reconjses audio cd,s. pl help me hat i shall do. Whether it can be repaired or shall i replace with which brand of cd writer.

A DVD drive has two lasers one for CD's and one for DVD.s. It is not uncommon for one of them to fail (normally the DVD one) You can try the Microsoft Fit it on the following web page.

If this does not fix the problem then it is time to get a new drive. All brands are much of a muchness and it is a matter of luck as to how long it will last.
